Here's a description of MEI usage:
Improved handling of sales pipeline. A field sales agent enters a new opportunity in Salesforce.com with a certain attribute - let's say it exceeds $10,000. There can be logic based on that attribute that will invoke a quote to close workflow. It can enter the quote automatically in the enterprise business system, such as QAD. Next, the coordination of the different participants proceeds in a workflow that is specifically designed to maximize the success rate in closing the new business opportunity.
And some other examples applying MEI:
- Increased efficiencies for purchasing.
- Requisition approval or purchase order approval.
- Workflows such as new part entry or new customer entry.
- Complex processes such as new product introduction.
